Getting an appliance fixed in Wombourne

Wombourne is a large village with homes of every age, from older cottages near the centre to post-war and later estates. If your cooker has stopped lighting, the oven won’t heat or the grill has gone cold, describe what happens, and say whether it is gas, electric or dual fuel.

Add the make, the type of cooker and your WV5 postcode, and the fixed labour price appears before you share any contact details. The engineer explains the fault at the visit, and any part is priced for your approval.

Taking it to the tip yourself

These council recycling centres take household appliances. Fridges and freezers need a site that accepts cooling appliances; check opening days and vehicle rules first.

Wombourne’s own recycling centre is partially open but currently excludes electrical items. Bilbrook is a council alternative; confirm it can take your appliance before travelling.

About Wombourne

The Wom Brook crosses Wombourne and can be followed through the village along the Wom Brook Walk. The former railway adds another walking route, passing the old station. These green corridors sit alongside the established village centre and its surrounding residential streets.

The old railway through the village closed long ago and now forms part of the South Staffordshire Railway Walk, with a café at the former station near Bratch Bridge. Nearby, the Bratch Locks on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, opened in 1772, sit beside the ornate Victorian Bratch pumping station. Wombourne is in South Staffordshire, south-west of Wolverhampton.
